Eva and Lilth: Sisters

Chapter One


In a world like no other live two girls who are sisters: Eva and Lilth.

Eva (15) has fiery red hair that is most likely to be down, gorgeous purple eyes to die for. Lilth (16) has golden hair that is almost as shiny as the sun, it is most likely found in a tight bun, and blue eyes as blue as the ocean.

Our tale begins when Eva and Lilth went to see Leon, the town’s story teller/gossip teller. Since it is rude to go into a person’s tent without permission, they had to wait to enter the tent. (Thank gosh it was morning, because if it wasn’t they would all be dead of a heat stroke.)

Leon finally came after they had been there for 15 minutes.

“Come in and have a seat.” Leon said in his faraway voice like he was having a daydream.

“Leon is there anything going on in the town today?” Eva said before Lilth could beat her to the punch.

“Yes there is something going on today, something really important. Eragon the 2ND is here to present the royal eggs. And it is starting in ten minutes.”

Eva and Lilth jumped up at the same time, thanked Leon and ran to the town square. They got there in time to see the eggs being taken out of there cushioned boxes. There were gasps.

There was a gold one, a green one, and a black egg.

“This is an important day. Hopefully today we will find a new rider or riders. May everyone please form a line to touch the eggs? If it shows the royal symbol please take the egg with the symbol and stand by me.” Eragon said with coolness in his voice.

Everyone did what Eragon said. Eva with a knot in her stomach was the 3RD in line, while Lilth was right behind her.

Eva being so nervous started playing with her sleeve of her dress. But Lilth was cool and relaxed. On the outside, on the inside she was as nervous as Eva, maybe more.

So far no one got the eggs to show the symbol.

When it was Eva’s turn, she touched the gold one, nothing. Then she touched the green one and the royal symbol showed up.

I am a dragon rider. Eva thought with a leap in her heart. Eva picked up the egg and walked over to Eragon.

Everyone clapped for Eva.

Now it is Lilth’s turn she touched the golden egg and stuffed in a gasp when it showed the symbol.

My sister and I are dragon riders. Lilth thought with a grin as she walked to Eragon to join her sister.

Lilth and Eva waited until a black haired man with a dagger on his belt, walked to them with his egg.

“These are our new riders.” Eragon said with a grin. Then everyone clapped as Eragon escorted them to a waiting carriage. Then Eragon climbed onto the back of his dragon, Saphira.

So theses are the new riders? They look like they could be great ones. All of them felt an unfamiliar mind rub against theirs.

“Saphira, it is great to meet you.” Eva said as Lilth and she bowed to Saphira.

It seems like 2/3 of them knows manners. Saphira said in a pleased tone.

Be nice. Eragon said in a playful voice.

“We will meet you in a while. Just go into the carriage and the driver will take you to your living quarters. Oh, and the banquet is at 5 o’clock this evening.” Eragon said in his normal voice.

“5 o’clock. I will be there.” said a stranger’s voice. Eva and Lilth turned to see the black haired man talking.

“ Well it is a long ways there you three might want to get going if you don’t want to be late to your own banquet.” Eragon said as they launched into the sky.

Then they climbed into the carriage. And they headed off to their new life.







Chapter Two

On the way there, Eva asked the stranger what is his name and he replied “Jett.”

“So will your parents be surprised when they found out that their daughters are dragon riders?” Jett asked just to make conversation.

“If they were alive, yes they would. Will yours?” Eva said quickly.

They arrived at their destination in 3 hours. The driver slowed the horses and jumped off to open the door to the carriage.

“Thank you.” Lilth said as they climbed out still clutching their eggs.

They walked into the house where the driver showed them to their room. Eva’s room was right by Lilth’s. Jett’s room is right by Eva’s.

When it was 4:30 they heard Eragon landing, as Eva and Lilth was fixing their hair.

At 4:50 Eragon came to bring them into the banquet room.

When they all were seated Eragon said “Congratulations all three of you for becoming the new dragon riders. Your eggs will hatch tonight so don’t get freaked out when you hear something weird. When your eggs hatch, come outside where I will be waiting to see your new dragons. So I will stop talking and let you eat.”

Eva looked at the table and found only one kind of food: vegetables.

That’s fine with me. Eva said with mental shrug, as she grabbed some cooked carrots and broccoli.

After the banquet, they all went into their rooms to wait for their eggs to hatch.

Eva pasted the time reading a book that she always had on her. It was poems about dragon riders.

Jett was on his one thousandths pace when his egg started to hatch. Jett sat on his bed right beside the egg. When he touched the newly hatched dragon, he felt something like liquid fire going into his arm. When he turned his hand found the gdwey ignia on his palm.

Lilth was crossing stitching when hers started to hatch. She touched the dragon and the same thing happened.

Eva was in the middle of a beautiful poem when her egg started to hatch. Eva was hesitant to touch the dragon, but she did. Her eyes water with the pain of her arm.

The three of them walked into the hallway where they met each other walking down the stairs holding their newly hatched dragons, and walked outside.

“That was earlier than I would have thought, but the dragons look fine. I wanted you three here to pick out names. In order to do that you must go into your dragon’s mind. Just relax and stay relaxed.” Eragon said as he leaned on Saphira’s side.

Eva cleared her mind and went into the mind of her dragon.

Umm…dragon, are you a boy or girl? Eva asked with caution.

Eva got a mental picture of a girl.

So you are a girl, right?

Then Eva got a mental picture of a thumb up.

Eva got out of the mind and said, “Mine is a girl!”

Then Lilth came back and said, “Mine is a boy!”

Jett came back and said, “Mine is a boy!”

They were all smiles.

But now was the naming part.

Eva quickly found a perfect name for her green dragon.

“Her name is Jade.” Eva said with an even bigger smile.

Now it was Lilth’s turn.

“My dragon’s name is Alex.” Lilth said with her father in mind.

“I am naming my dragon, Max.” Jett said with the same coolness in his voice.

“Those are unique names, now for the matter of your things. They will be arriving tomorrow morning. Now get some sleep, you will start your training tomorrow.” Eragon said leaving with Saphira.

The three new riders walked to their rooms and went to bed.




Chapter Three

Lilth woke up to find Alex curled up by her side.

Things changed so quickly, I don’t feel like myself anymore. Lilth thought as she got a dress on that was in her belongs that was brought when she was asleep.

Lilth fixed her hair, and walked to the banquet room to have some breakfast. There was no one there so she grabbed an apple and walked outside with Alex close on her heels.

She found Eragon meditating.

“Early raiser, aren’t we?” Eragon said without opening his eyes.

“Always have and always will.” Lilth said sitting down waiting for her sister and Jett to come.

They came shortly after Lilth.

“Before I can train you, we must go and get your own swords. So follow me.” Eragon said as he opened his eyes got up and walked into the forest.

They walked in the forest for 15 minutes, until they found a thatched roof hut, which has smoke coming out of the chimney.

When they walked in they were immediately measured.

They measured weird things like how far apart was your fingers to your toes, and how far apart was your eyes.

But it paid off, they got beautiful swords, one as gold as real gold, one as green as emeralds, and one that is black as night.

The swords were the perfect height and weight.

Then they walked back to the house’s yard.

“Now I must find your weaknesses in fighting and make them stronger.” Eragon said as he took out his own sword. Everyone knows the name of it. It name is Brisingr. “Jett, you are first.”

Jett was done 50 seconds after they started.

Thank all the gods and goddesses that our father taught us how to fight. Eva thought as she stepped in front of Eragon.

They wanted for the other to attack. It didn’t happen until Eragon tried to give a blow to the head until Eva blocked it.

Bloody hell, he’s fast! One side of her thought.
Well, no da! Do you think he just killed old Galby just by luck, you stupid girl? The other side said with sarcasm.

Eva almost got hit in the knee by Brisingr for not paying attention, until she jumped at the last minute and hit Eragon in the arm. She heard a crack as she broke her wrist.

She should have screamed in pain. But she just switched the sword to her left hand.

“That is enough for you. Give me your wrist.” Eragon said as he held out his hand that didn’t have the gdwey ignia on his palm.

Eva gently put her wrist on Eragon’s hand. Eragon tenderly put his other hand on her wrist. Eva felt a lightning bolt of pain as he murmured something she had never heard of before. Light came from his gdwey ignia. Then the pain was gone.

“Don’t do anything that can hurt your wrist for the rest of the day. All of you get some rest and see you for dinner.” Eragon said as he gave Eva back her arm. And Eragon walked away.

“How did you hold him off for so long?” Jett asked.

“I don’t know. Just luck I guess.” Eva replied as she walked into her room and closed the door on Jett.

She lay down on her bed and recounted the last few hours.

Jade jumped up on the bed and started nudging Eva’s arm with her head.

“You must be hungry. Stay here.” Eva said as she walked out of her room and went into the woods to find something for Jade to eat. Eva found a rabbit and killed it. She brought it out of the woods put it down on the ground and found Jade gliding out of the open window. She landed elegantly right by the rabbit.

Jade hit a growth spurt only last night. It seemed that her brain had one too because of just getting only pictures from Jade’s mind she got some words too.

Eva waited until Jade was done eating that she walked back into the house. Jade following Eva of course.
